Located in Xochimilco, an area known for its historic chinampas—reclaimed wetlands used for agriculture—this project honors traditional Mexican agricultural and cooking practices by taking a circular design approach to the use of local waste brick.
The structure utilizes reject or "waste" bricks from the manufacturer Comextesa in Puebla, incorporating innovative bonding techniques. Bricks are algorithmically sorted by geometry to ensure all materials are usable, creating a robust, functional outer layer tied into the structural vault.
